The Battle Wages On

The battle wages on here in Mole St. Nicholas and there seems to be a pattern that has been emerging in the past couple of weeks. The battle is waging on the kids and family members of our staff. We saw how the Lord delivered Mikela and Rosie and the whole family as they went up against the government. We are rejoicing in this victory and the Christ character it is developing in all of the kids.

This past week we have had one with malaria, one with high fever and throat swollen almost shut, and today we had one that went to school like any other school day and before she reached the edge of town she dropped her bag and collapsed on the ground.  We were grateful that one of the ladies from the orphanage and one from our kitchen were able to pick her up and take her back to her house. Most of the day she has been lethargic and she hasn’t been able to speak. Pierre and I saw her late this afternoon and she was walking and talking, but I know it scared her and her Momma. We were able to pray with her and encourage her and her Momma.

As we try to advance the Kingdom it’s not just us missionaries that are on the frontline in the battle. Our staff is trying to stand strong as well. It is not an easy thing and it certainly not a popular thing, but God never told us it would be easy. When our kids struggle, are sick and are hurting…we are too. Isn’t this where the evil one want us? He doesn’t want the Kingdom to advance and he will certainly distract us and do anything possible to keep this from happening. Our God is more than a conqueror and He will prevail…I believe this. He is sharpening us in ways that we are unable to see and He is developing in us more of His Character.

We ask right now that you circle us in prayer and that you circle the staff and their families…their children. They so desperately need a touch from God. Pray for the health and safety of their children. Pray for broken relationships to be mended. Pray that our eyes are opened to His will and His way. Pray for our relationship with Christ to not only take us deeper, but to unify us in a stronger way. Always pray for wisdom and understanding in all the decisions we make on a daily basis.

  4. Amen! Praying for children & staff & missionaries. God is able to do exceedingly abundantly more than all we ask or pray! Eph 3:20-21 The Lord promises (Psalm 91 ) as we dwell in Him that He will cover you all under His feathers and under His wings you will all find refuge, He will rescue you, He will protect you, He will deliver you, He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways, you’ll trample upon the lion and the serpent. Praise the Lord Jesus! He is faithful to all His promises which are yes and amen! Keep on sister Beth in fighting the good fight in good courage of The Lord! The Lord is with you! Love, Sister Chris
